Travelling in New Zealand

If you are curious about where and when to travel in New Zealand here are some helpful tips. We all know about the majestic country that combines a dramatic rugged beauty, but what is the best time of year to go? First keep in mind that of the two islands, on the North island there is a lot of rain on the Western side of the mountains, however it's less strong in the South.
On the Southern island there is still a wet climate on the Western side, with a dry climate in the East. As for when to go, the warmer months are November to April with Summer between December and February, on the other hand winter is June to August. Cooler periods with less tourism are October/November and April/May. Expect to find friendly people, a rich wine and sheep culture, and obviously a dramatic natural landscape full of opportunities for extreme sports! You may want to get travel insurance in case you decide to try them!
